Blame it on the Moon

The stars were drunk
And the moon was high
Your eyes
See right through mine

My heart swelled
With the feeling of life
As though time had been taken
My soul tamed by the shadows of a sleepy sky

I spin around, feeling complete
The tide pulled me in, and spun me again
The quiver of excitement, as I wait for dawn
The world quietly awakens

Deep within, I resurface
This is where I feel
Where my careless freedom roams
Where my eyes set a new gaze
So my ears can hear new sounds

The stars were drunk
And the moon was high
You made me dance
So my soul could sigh
Like a long breath in, for the very first time.
